Hello All,

My name is Rob, I live in Kentucky. I have been a Sci Fi fan ever since I got to see Star Wars in the movies when I was a kid, in the 70's.. (show my age a little) I bought the game around April of last year, played for a while and where I am on SSI, for a bad back, I couldnt keep up the payments. But, when it went F2P I returned. Love the game, but its really hard to do it all without a fleet. I have a VA toon that is a tactical officer and managed to get all the Borg stuff for him, but it took forever as most people will leave during the missions or so bossy that you cant stand to do it with them, kids... So, I did a little google search and after looking at a few I found the 106th. Seemed right up my alley. So I hope I can contribute to you all.

My toon's name is Budoway@Belomos, he is a alien and a SF Science Officer..Hope to catch ya in the galaxy.

Hello, I ran into many of the mission problems you did and was glad to find this Fleet. I have been a sci-fi fan about as long as you have, (was a kid in the 70's myself), and I began playing STO F2P in September this year, (2012). I just made Rear Admiral. I'm looking forward to working with you on some missions.

re: Hi

Been in the fleet for a week now. Should have posted this sooner.

Good day, my name is Dave and I live in rainy Vancouver, BC, Canada. I'm 32, married and have a young son. Currently I'm a recruiter for the military. Personally, I'm a sergeant in the infantry. I've been deployed to Afghanistan and Yugo.

Last night I finished my first go around with the elite STF's. I was hesitant at first, due to the fact I've never attempted elite because my ship isn't up to most of the old boys standards. But I grounded it out, and with the help of the 106th, prevailed. I had no idea that they were that tough. Good wake up call and the amount of Omega points got me the kinetic beam. I'm having a blast. Cheers.

Welcome to the fleet. I am glad you enjoyed yourself on your elite STF. We are one of the best STF fleets around. We learn them, stratigize them and destroy them.

If you have any questions, please be sure you ask an officer of the fleet. They are always more than willing to assist or answer questions.

re: Captain Benzoate

Hello Fleet! I'm sorry, I should have posted this long ago. I have actually been in the fleet for about 50 days or so at this point. I have to say, BEST FREAKIN FLEET EVER!!

Luckily, I have only ever been in one other fleet and that one was not a fit for me. I won't mention any names, but honestly, they sucked! There was NO assistance what so ever. So I know how bad a 'bad' fleet can be. That is NOT the case with the 106th! I have yet to ask for help with something and have NO one respond, someone was ALWAYS willing and able to help out.

As long as I am in the fleet, I will do my very best to make sure that tradition continues. While I am no expert by any means, if anyone does need help leveling up or getting thru any particular mission, please pm/tell/skype/teamspeak/facebook me, I will be more than willing to help out. I just roll like that Happy

re: Bill the Trill

Just joined the fleet and wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am a husband and father of four little ones 5 years old and under. Our two middle children are adopted from overseas. I am pretty much a Sci-fi nut, I like anything in that genre whether it's movies, tv shows, or games. I have played STO from the original launch of the game and then took a 9 month break due to real life priorities. I am thankful to have found the 106th so far everyone has made me feel welcome and right at home. Hope to see you in game and get to know you better!

Joined the fleet a couple of days ago and felt was time to introduce myself. I am 38 yrs old, father of 3 and married to a wonderful wife whom also is playing STO(just not as much as I am at this time). I have been a Star Trek fan and enjoy playing MMO's. I have played WoW, DC Universe Online, and Runes of magic to name a couple. When I heard STO was going to f2p, I thought I'd give it a try and I am really enjoying it. Not only do I get my Star Trek fix; but I also get really well done space combat (which I am still working on bettering mysel at). I always strive to better myself in whatever I do. After reading the information on this site and this looks like a good fit for me. My interests include crafting, space combat and pve. While I have not been much for pvp, I may be looking into that area as well in the future.

Welcome to the fleet! Glad you are enjoying the game!

re: Howdy, folks!

My name is Tarasdad and I'm a new member of the 106th. I've been a Star Trek fan since the original series first aired and I've watched every series and movie since. Conventions aren't my thing, I'm just a fan of the series, the ST universe and of Gene Roddenberry's vision.

When STO was first announced I was overjoyed - finally an MMO based on what I consider the best possible fictional universe! I applied for closed beta but wasn't selected. When open beta came along I was there in a flash. Sadly my participation in STO ended there as I am disabled and live on Social Security Disability Income which doesn't leave a whole lot extra for things like game subscriptions. When the game went F2P I hopped right in, excited to see the improvements from my beta experience. I played my heart out and got both Federation and Klingon characters to their max levels. Due to several factors (moving, health primarily) I ended up taking an extended break from not only STO but all gaming. When I decided to pick it up again I started fresh with new characters. Playing the game solo is fun, but can get old fast. I've been a member of an online gaming group for over 10 years, even though most of us don't play the same games any more and our forums are more a place to check on each other than anything else any more. I'm just more comfortable in a more social environment so it was natural that I'd look for a fleet. When I used the Fleet Finder in STO the entry for the 106th stood out from the rest. After visiting the website and reading about the group I decided to apply. The rest, as they say, is history!

A little background on Tarasdad. I'm a native Texan currently living in Southern California (culture shock in spades). I'm happily married to my best friend and soul mate. We have one child, Tara, who only spent an hour and fifteen minutes in this mortal world before returning home to live with her Heavenly Father. In that short time she wrapped herself around my heart. She is our Treasure in Heaven, a challenge to both of us to live worthy lives so that we may someday be with her again. I can think of no more blessed task than that. Our only other "children" are our two cats (Charlie and Lincoln) and two dogs (Ollie and Winston) - keeping up with them is quite enough of a handful for this disabled old geezer!

Glad to have you here! Sorry it took so long to respond. A fleet leader's job is never done...;)

Sorry to hear about your daughter. She is in good hands though.

Again, welcome to the fleet. If you have any questions, members are more than willing to answer them.

re: Greetings....

Greetings all, I am Kalav and I have recently been added to the fleet a few days ago.

In reality (you know that place that no one wants to live) I am a 31 year old male, who served 8 years in the US Army National Guard, I was injured in 2010 with a fractured spine and a TBI (traumatic brain injury). So I am a stay home dad with a wife and 5 month old daughter. Because I am a stay home dad my times are usually late in the evenings or on days my wife has off.

On the game side of things I have been a member since the beta and am also a lifetime member. My current character is Kalav a Federation Klingon and he is a reboot as it has been about a year and a half since I have been able to play due to my injuries. So all advice is welcome as I am currently a PVE player because I have never been good at PVP nor do I understand prober builds but I am here to learn.

I am hoping to meet and interact with as many members of this fleet as I can and if you find that I am not a right fit I still want to say thanks for allowing me the pleasure of enjoying your company.
